Clock in and out of your workday

Use the Work Tracker widget to record your workday, understand why a clock-in can be denied, and recover the record without duplicating sessions.

For
  • I work on the cleaning team
  • I work at the front desk
Available on
  • Agency

The Work Tracker widget records your working sessions for the day: when you start, when you finish, and the total hours. The correct outcome is that every real session appears in Today's time entries with its clock-in and clock-out.

Holidario stores the records you create. Shift planning, validating the hours, and labor compliance remain the agency's responsibility; the widget does not decide rights or labor agreements by itself.

Where to clock in#

  1. Confirm the active team.
  2. Open the Dashboard and locate the Work Tracker widget.
  3. Check that the displayed date is today and that the status shows Currently working or Clocked out.

The widget appears when your account is linked to an active employee record in the current team and your role allows it. If you do not see it, check the active team first; then use Edit Layout and Add Widget on the dashboard itself in case it was removed from the tab. If it still does not appear, ask whoever administers the team to confirm your employee record; never clock in from someone else's account.

Clock in#

  1. Press Clock In when you actually start working, not before you are available.
  2. Wait for the page to reload and confirm the Clocked in successfully message.
  3. Check that the status changes to Currently working, that the counter is running, and that Today's time entries shows the new session with its start time.

If you have a scheduled shift that day, clock-in opens a margin before your scheduled start; you do not need to calculate it. If you clock in too early, Holidario denies it and the message shows the exact time from which you can clock in.

If the clock-in is denied#

An error window explains the reason for the rejection.

  • Today is not a working day for you: your schedule marks a day off, you have approved time off, or it is a team holiday. If you believe you do work today, do not keep pressing the button: notify the person who manages schedules so the planning gets corrected.
  • It is too early: wait until the time shown in the message and clock in then.

A denied clock-in leaves no recorded session. If you start working anyway on the agency's instruction, report your real start time to your supervisor so the workday is not lost; do not compensate later with invented sessions.

Clock out#

  1. Press Clock Out when you finish.
  2. Wait for the reload and confirm the status returns to Clocked out.
  3. Check in Today's time entries that the session has a clock-out time and duration.

You can record several sessions on the same day; each appears as a separate row. If you press Clock Out without an open session, Holidario shows No active clock-in found and nothing changes.

If you forgot to clock out#

When you press Clock In while a previous session is still open, Holidario closes that session automatically at that moment and starts a new one. The forgotten session can end up with a duration that does not reflect your real work.

Review Today's time entries after each clock-in. If a time is wrong, do not try to fix it by clocking again: report the affected session and the real hours to your supervisor so the agency corrects it through its own procedure.

Before clocking in from a new device#

The widget does not yet have generally verified device acceptance. Before relying on a phone or tablet during service, confirm with the agency that you can see the complete widget, clock in and out, and read Today's time entries on that combination. If a control is missing or the confirmation does not arrive, use an already verified device and tell your supervisor.

States that change what you should do#

  • Currently working: a session is open; the counter includes that time.
  • Clocked out: no session is open; the day's total keeps the closed sessions.
  • Widget missing: wrong team, widget removed from the tab, or employee record pending; it is not necessarily a failure.
  • Entry with empty clock-out: the session is still open; close it when you finish or it will be closed automatically at your next clock-in.

Who to contact#

For schedules, time off, holidays, and time corrections, contact the person who manages schedules at your agency. Use Get help only if the widget fails repeatedly with an unexpected error; include team, date, approximate time, and the exact message text, without credentials.
