Manage guest-area FAQs

Publish agency-wide or property-specific answers in the area guests see after booking.

This guide is for the person responsible for approving the agency's public content. The outcome is an active, translated answer visible in the correct guest area after a booking.

The default front-desk role may expose editing controls, but staff must not change content without explicit delegation. For daily guest questions, give them Check the information in the guest area.

Where these FAQs actually appear#

FAQs managed on this screen appear at the end of an operation's Guest Area. They do not currently appear on the homepage, public property listing, or checkout.

They can be:

  • general, visible in every operation's guest area;
  • specific, shown first and only for one vacation-rental operation.

Do not use an FAQ for key codes, credentials, identity documents, or information that must vary by reservation.

Answers are plain text. Line breaks are preserved in the guest area, while HTML is escaped and displayed literally. Use short paragraphs and do not paste HTML for formatting.

Create an FAQ#

  1. Open Website > Short-Term Rentals.
  2. Under Guest-area FAQs, select Add Guest-area FAQ.
  3. Choose the Short-Term Rental category. The General category is not part of the verified guest-area rendering path.
  4. For every property, leave Applies to empty.
  5. For one property, choose One property, then select the correct Property.
  6. Choose an icon, display order, and whether it should be Active.
  7. Add one complete question-and-answer translation for every supported language, without repeating a language.
  8. Save and confirm that the FAQ appears in the list.

Lower order numbers display first. You can also reorder with the arrows in the list; wait for one reorder to complete before making another.

Test without a real reservation#

To reach the preview action in the product, you must be able to open the operation. When Holidario generates the link, it also verifies that the operation is authorized in the active team, that you can read its vacation-rental details, and that you have check-in access. The operation must be a vacation-rental operation; access to the FAQ editor alone is not enough.

  1. Open the relevant operation.
  2. Under Actions, select Access Guest Area.
  3. Holidario generates a signed link that expires in about 20 seconds and opens it in another tab.
  4. Scroll to Frequently Asked Questions.
  5. Check order, icon, question, answer, translation, and the property-specific label where applicable.

Do not copy that link into permanent documentation or send it to a guest: it is an ephemeral preview.

States and errors#

  • Empty list: create one low-risk general FAQ and test the preview first.
  • Inactive: it remains in administration but is hidden from guests.
  • Current language missing: the site may fall back to English or another available translation; complete all languages to avoid this.
  • Not visible: check category, active state, attached operation, and active team.
  • Form does not load: close the modal once, reload, and reopen it; retain a screenshot and time if it persists.
  • Preview action is absent: confirm the active team, access to that specific operation, operation and vacation-rental read access, and check-in access.
  • Preview expired: generate it again from the operation; do not modify the URL.

Before deleting an FAQ, prefer deactivating it and checking the impact. Deletion requires specific permission and must not be used to solve a translation or attachment mistake.

Escalate with FAQ ID, category, operation, language, and screenshot. Do not include a real guest-panel link.
