Create and maintain contract templates
Define language-specific content and validated variables before generating manual contracts.

On this page
A template contains the base text for a manual contract, its available languages and the variables that must be completed for each document. Holidario validates the structure; the agency remains responsible for approving the content and its use.
Before writing it#
- Obtain reviewed text for the relationship, property and territory where it will be used.
- Define who can approve changes and their effective date.
- Use separate templates when obligations, parties or purpose differ; do not hide legal variants inside ambiguous variables.
- Remove real customer examples, identity numbers, telephone numbers and other customer data.
Templates in Contracts are not the contract.pdf Holidario generates when traveller registration is processed. They are independent manual documents and are not automatically linked to a reservation or property.
Define variables and languages#

- Open Contract Templates and select Create.
- Give it a clear internal name containing its purpose and version.
- Enter the number of variables. Use short, stable and unique names.
- For each variable, choose the correct type: text, number, date, boolean, email, DNI/NIE, CIF or telephone.
- Enter the number of language versions; at least one is required.
- For each language, select its code and enter the complete content.
- Insert every declared variable in the exact form
{{variable_name}}. - Save and resolve every validation before proceeding.
Each content version must use every declared variable and cannot introduce variables outside the list. Create only one version per language even though the form does not prevent duplicates; duplicate languages make later selection ambiguous.
Test before customer use#
- Create a test contract without real personal data.
- Select every language and enter representative values for all variable types.
- Check that no
{{...}}markers, visible HTML labels or empty sections remain. - Download the PDF and inspect page breaks, header, footer and special characters.
- Record who approved the text and the test result under your agency process.
Holidario renders the content as HTML. Paste only content from a trusted source and review the visual result; do not insert scripts, forms, trackers or external resources.
Changes and versions#
Changing a template affects contracts created afterwards. Existing contracts keep a snapshot of the content they had when generated.
Do not reuse the same name for a material change without making its version clear. When an issued text needs correction, create a new contract from the approved template; never assume editing the template rewrites existing documents.
Errors, permissions and escalation#
- The module is missing: confirm the Agency plan and
contract_system. - You can only read: managers can inspect templates, but creation and editing require specific administrative permissions.
- A language is missing when creating a contract: add a valid version to the template and reload the form.
- A variable is unused or undeclared: align the list and every content version; do not rename it in only one language.
- A value fails validation: correct the variable type or the data; never alter an identity number, CIF, date or email merely to force saving.
Device acceptance for the template editor has not yet been verified. Use a wider screen for long multilingual content and the final variable review; if a field or content pane is incomplete on a smaller screen, do not save there. For support, provide the template ID, language and variable name using fictional values, and avoid copying full contractual text when it contains confidential information.
